The Foundation

The Foundation’s MISSION is to support those who strive for the acquisition and broadening of their knowledge aimed at benefiting themselves or their communities at large. The work of the Foundation is dedicated to the memory of Josip Peic who devotedly strived for leaving a personal mark in the field of social science. The Foundation will encourage young people to persist on their road to knowledge even when they face initial obstacles.

The VISION of the Foundation is to leave an intellectual heritage for future generations by changing the lives of students willing to conquer the great world of knowledge and education.

Projects

Project I:

Basic school material such as pencils, workbooks and accessories provided for first graders in elementary school in Sombor.

Project II:

On September 20, 2017, The Foundation rewarded Dunja Pribiš, a student of the fourth year at the Faculty of Education in Sombor, with a one-year stipend. Dunja is the first student to be awarded the “Josip Peić“ Scholarship, which represents a great honor and joy for both her and the Foundation. Dunja will be receiving a monthly stipend until the end of the academic year 2017/2018.

 

Josip

Josip Peic was born on February 13, 1985 in Sombor, Serbia. Josip was a person who was constantly learning new things and looking for ways to improve himself and become a better human being. In 2010, he graduated with the highest honors at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Novi Sad, Serbia. Josip completed his master studies of political theory in 2012 at the Faculty of Political Science in Belgrade, Serbia. Three years later, he received his MA in public policy from Central European (CEU) in Budapest, Hungary and enrolled in competitive PhD program at European University Institute (EUI). After three months of his admission to EUI, Josip’s studies stopped by unexpected and premature death on November 24, 2015.
